Security Coordinator

Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently seeking to recruit a competent Security Coordinator to join our Al Zour team in Kuwait.

Gather relevant information to support the PSM in conducting security investigations
Assist the PSM in the development and implementation of security practices and instructions that support the existing corporate security policy and project security programme
Provide expertise in the effective coordination of security and emergency preparedness matters for project, offsite office locations and extending to overseas locations where the PMC has assigned employees
Ensure the coordination of daily security matters on behalf of and as directed by the PSM, with the intent to protect project personnel, assets, critical activities, information, infrastructure, processes and reputation; including project personnel located on site and country-wide. This is to include daily interface with the security consultancy (G4S) on routine security issues, as well as security incidents
Assist the PSM in the coordination of the company travel security management program. This includes provision of travel and country threat and security briefings for professionals on long-term assignments (Expats) or visiting project personnel
Assist in the establishment of a ‘one team approach’ on the Project with Company, Project Management Team and EPC Contractors, ensuring that adequate resources and competence meets demands of the project and reporting where there are any shortfalls
Assist the PSM in developing effective project security metrics for performance measurement
Monitor Security Performance Indicators (SPI’s) of 3rd party guard force vendor service and EPC security functions, compile and report findings
Conduct periodic security audits and report findings, as directed by the PSM
Assist the PSM in the development and delivery of security and emergency response training as required
Assist in the development and recording of Security Performance Indicators (SPI’s) of each respective EPC and 3rd party security vendor services. Provide the PSM with weekly and monthly SPI reports
Assist in the provision of International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS Code) expertise in relation to the Marine Terminal facility (to include the off-shore island operation)
Implement radioactive source Material, Protection, Control and Accounting (MPC&A) guidance as directed by the Project Security Manager
Act as the secondary Security Focal Point for site-wide security coordination that may affect personnel, assets, processes and reputation and deputize for the PSM in his absence
Maintain relationships with the 3rd Party security vendor and respective EPC’s and report any security infringements or non-compliances to the PSM

Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Security, Criminal Justice or related area preferred
Typically, 12+ years security experience of which at least 5 years to be in the corporate or industrial environment with direct experience within the oil and gas industry
