De Beers Group of Companies has an opportunity to join the Protective Services department for an 18 month term in an office based position at the Operational Support Centre based in Calgary. Reporting to the Protective Services Operations Superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating day to day risk management, security assurance, and protective services reporting across DCBI ensuring the general safety and security of people and assets. This is achieved by collaborating with business operations across all disciplines and geographical boundaries to support the optimization of security related initiatives. The ideal candidate is one who is committed to safe working practices and strives for zero harm. This position will require ad hoc travel to both the Gahcho Kué Mine and Snap Lake Mine (NWT) and Victor Mine (Northern Ontario).

Primary responsibilities:
Coordinate day to day security assurance activities to ensure the integrity, safety and security to employees located in a remote mine site;
Manage the Protective Services Department short and long term reporting for staffing, budgeting and planning;
Conduct, review and/or coordinate incident investigations related to security or protective services issues across DCBI in conjunction with external Security Assurance Providers;
Coordinate the administration of technical security systems such as access control and video management systems;
Maintain regular communication with external Security Assurance Providers to ensure service delivery on accordance with SOW (statement of work);
Demonstrate a commitment to DCBI’s safety, health and environmental programs and comply with all security policies;
Acting in a Project Management role for security related projects and initiatives;
Regular visits to DCBI mine sites in remote locations;
Report any issues that may harm people, environment, information or product;

Requirements:
Minimum five (5) years’ supervisory experience in security, military, police work or related service;
Proven ability to create and maintain budgets;
Demonstrated ability in conducting security threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments;
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing skills;
Strong planning and analytical skills to effectively report and manage risk;
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage and communicate with employees of various cultural backgrounds at all levels of the organization;
Previous experience in major case management and/or intelligence operations is an asset;
Ability to travel to remote locations within Canada on a regular basis; and
Proven commitment to Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
