SOS International LLC (SOSi) is seeking a Director of Security & Emergency Management Services (EMS) for a contract located at a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Iraq. The selected candidate will work as a member of the Directorate of Security and Emergency Management Services.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• The Director of Security leads the Directorate of Security and Emergency Management Services team in the development and implementation of comprehensive safety/security programs designed to protect contractor personnel and equipment
• Responsible for the implementation of physical and electronic security measures required to prevent a disruption of Base Life Support/Security Services
• Provides skilled, targeted security services required to operate and manage base security operations and lead a team of security personnel to attain optimal execution of security measures for the prevention of criminal/hostile actions against assigned contractor personnel
• Responsible for reduction, mitigation, or elimination of identified threat vulnerabilities against facilities and personnel that may be exposed to during the execution of base life support operations in a hostile and austere environment
• Plans, organizes, develops, implements and manages base security program IAW established Security & Emergency Management System policies and procedure for the protection of SOSi assets and contractor personnel
• Oversees and Manages Base Security Operations to ensure continuity of security services; base security operations include Sector Security control, Base Defense Operations Center Security Liaison, and Biometric Automated Toolset (BAT) Operations
• Primary point of contact (POC) for the Security subcontract and all aspects of the security operations at the LSA’s, Airfield, and all SOSi areas of responsibility.
• Ensures Security subcontractor meets standards and all requirements identified in the PWS and security subcontract.
• Develop and manage implementation of Security Desktop Operating Procedures (DOP) IAW Corporate and Project policies and procedures
• First line manager of base security operations team responsible for conducting performance evaluations and providing guidance to personnel on performance IAW corporate and project Human Resources policy and procedures
• Reviews and provides guidance to security operations team on the development of security inquiries, conduct of interviews, and execution of security operations in support of project master scope of work
• Develop and submit written and oral security reports/presentations to corporate/project senior management
• Senior liaison for communication with military and law enforcement during security-related operations
• Serves as member of project Crisis Management Response Team and stirring group
• Conduct and review Threat Vulnerability Assessments (TVAs) and Security Assessments of facilities IAW corporate and project security policies/procedures
• Recommend and Implement Force Protection (FP) enhancements throughout operational areas so as to provide mitigation of security risks posed to both US and contractor personnel
• Assist in management of physical security compliance programs; key control, OPSEC, INFOSEC
• Provides security management oversight during the conduct of Health and Welfare Inspections to prevent the entrance of illegal/illicit contraband on to the base camp
• Enforce FP levels to ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn when required or directed to be worn
• Enforce base badge requirements, ensure escort policy and procedures are adhered to, conduct physical security patrols of critical facilities to include SOSi and subcontractor Life Support Areas (LSAs)
• Conduct patrols of critical facilities within operational areas to ensure security of critical assets
• Supervise security technicians and security guard force element during the conduct of day to day operations in BAT Screening Cell
• Establishes/Develops/Improves protocol for interface with host nation military defense and law enforcement agencies to ensure continuity of security operations and open dialogue with regards to Security, Force Protection, Counter-terrorism, and open source intelligence
• Maintains accountability for all critical equipment; Digital Photography Equipment, Fingerprint Scanner(s) and/or Retina Scanners, Laptop/Desktop Computers, External Storage Databases, and Communication Equipment assigned to security facilities
• Performs additional duties as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS






• Current US Government Secret Clearance is required
• Prior Senior Military Police officer, Senior Non-commissioned Officer in Combat Arms, or Law Enforcement Officer with a minimum of 12-15 years of experience in execution of security operations in a hostile area of operations.
• Previous military assignments as member of US Army Rangers, US Army Special Forces, US Marine Special Operations, US Navy Seals, or US Air Force Security/Special Operations
• Extensive knowledge in Physical Security Operations and Management
• Certified Department of Defense Antiterrorism/Force Protection Officer
• Previous experience working under LOGCAP/AFCAP/BLS contracts in forward operating bases in Middle East/Central Asia

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Security, Security Management, Business Management, or similar degree program
• Previous assignment as Director of Security with experience executing Non-Combatant Evacuation Operations (NEO) and/or managing Emergency Management Services (EMS)
• Previous assignment as Division-level or higher Security Area Command (SAC) Manager
• Previous assignment as AT/FP Officer for Division level command or higher
• Previous assignment as Physical Security Manager for Division level command or higher
• Previous assignment as Senior Manager of BAT Screening/Badging Cell conducting operations in Middle East/Central Asia – Iraq or Afghanistan
• Previous experience as Senior Security Director for LOGCAP/AFCAP/BLS Program with management oversight over multiple security departments providing a variety of security functions at multiple forward operating locations in multiple countries
• Ability to conduct Threat and vulnerability assessments
• Ability to quickly assess weaknesses in the security plan and develop mitigation strategy

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable
• Extended Work hours to include swing shift (early morning/late night duty)
• Exposure to extreme weather and hazardous conditions
• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
