We are currently searching for a Crisis, Emergency and Risk Manager for our Sub Saharan Africa Location.
The Crisis, Emergency and Risk Manager would provide risk expertise and guidance, and manage and maintain the delivery of Critical Incident Avoidance, Response and Recovery as well as R3 System requirements for the sub-region.


Position Location and Job Expectations:

This position will be based in Johannesburg and require substantial travel in Sub Saharan Africa and possibly other global locations. Travel, work support meetings and emergency response and management support may be required outside the normal weekly working hours. It is expected the incumbent will be flexible and reasonably available to accommodate these requirements.

Knowledge / Experience / Competencies Required
Job Specific Knowledge:
· Sub Saharan Africa experience required
· Experience in a similar corporate security role under similar operating conditions preferred
· Mining, Construction or Oil and Gas experience in Sub Saharan Africa preferred

Industry Specific Experience:
· 7 years’ experience in security, crisis and/or emergency management related field required
Tertiary level qualifications in an R3-related field desirable
· Military or Police background preferred
· HSE and /or Advanced Medic qualification preferred

· Effective communications – fluent in both written and oral English
· Competent, detailed report and plan writing skills
· Problem solving and change management skills
· Risk management and incident investigation experience
· Training skills
· Analytical and conceptual skills

IT Skills:

· Working knowledge of basic computer programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

People Skills:
· A demonstrable track record of leadership
· Ability to articulate requirements and influence and educate employees on the benefits
· Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment
