Position overview:
The purpose of the Safety and Risk Management Advisor position is to develop and implement NRC Security Management System at national level, conduct Security Risk Analysis (SRA) according to minimum operational requirements (MOSS), minimize security risks to the operations of NRC, support, training, manage, control and develop security staff in all offices. Furthermore, prepare reports as required, and communicate and cooperate with relevant external security actors.
Ideal candidate profile: We are looking for a motivated dynamic candidate, with excellent leadership and management skills. Our preferred candidate is someone who has a minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior Security Advisor in a humanitarian/recovery context; Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts; fluency in English, both written and verbal is mandatory and Arabic language is preferred. Lastly, knowledge of the context in Syria is an asset.
Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work closely in conjunction with the Area Manager, Access Coordinator, Syria Security Advisor to inform programmatic strategy with regards to the Syria response and implementation
Facilitate information management and dissemination amongst the Syria Response Hubs
Provide quantitative and qualitative data to programme and support staff
Liaise with other research, analysis, and security professionals in so far as is necessary to support programmatic aims
Support SA’s contribution to security department’s recommendations on posturing and operations
Regular reporting to Regional SA in Amman and provision of qualitative and quantitative inputs and ad-hoc assigned tasks
Contract duration is 24 months
